after shifter cables are removed from posts on trans grab stock bushing like so with pliars

this is a pic of the lower post being sanded a little.  i tried bearing on post and it was tight so sanded it a little and test fit until it went on smooth

sanded lower post... took all of maybe 30 sec to sand enough for bushing to fit

on the upper post more attention needs to be paid to the end of the post when sanding since that spot seems to be where the bearing will hang up initially
